The acolyte program at First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville is for students in grades 6 - 12. The acolytes' responsibility is to assist the ministers in the service as well as the lighting of the altar candles and assisting in baptisms and Holy Communion.
Each worship service has an adult acolyte coordinator who schedules and assists the acolytes on Sunday mornings. Acolyte training is held the last week of January/first week of February each year.
After 4 years of service each acolyte receives a sterling silver cross by jewelry craftsman James Avery.
