A. William (Bill) Steele is a graduate of Texas State University, holding a degree in French horn performance. He has worked in the field of church music for 28 years, serving 18 of those years in Texas churches. His choirs and bell groups have produced 7 recordings, toured Europe twice, and received invitations to sing at Carnegie Hall. Under Bill's direction, choirs have performed Handel's MESSIAH (complete), Mozart's REQUIEM K. 626, Rutter's GLORIA, Vivaldi's GLORIA, Schubert's MASS in G, and other classical works and anthems. Bill is married to Robin and they have two children.

Joan Irwin has been the Church Organist since 1989. She attended the University of Tennessee, where she majored in Music. She has been a professional organist since age 14. Currently, Joan is a member of the Georgia Music Teacher's Association. She is married and has three sons and two grandchildren.
Richard Shivers, Men of Praise Director
Richard Shivers, Director of the Men of Praise, serves as a volunteer member of the music staff. He is a music specialist and lead teacher in Gwinnett County Public Schools, and a former adjunct instructor at Georgia State University in the School of Music. Recently, he was honored by being selected as 2010 Teacher of the Year at Riverside Elementary School. His college: a Masters of Music degree from Georgia State University, and a Specialist degree in Administrative Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University. Richard brings to the group an experience of directing choral groups of various age levels, a heritage of church, and has served on national, state, and local educational committees. In his spare time, he is a potter of wheel-thrown clay in functional ware. Richard, his wife Susan, and their children, Heath and Greg are active members of this church.
Lori Ziecker, Rejoice Director
Lori Ziecker, Director of Rejoice, is a volunteer member of the music staff, sings in the Sanctuary Choir, and plays piano at the 8:00am church service, and for Grace Arbor. She received a Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Music Education from the Crane School of Music at the State University of New York at Potsdam. She has taught Middle, Junior High, and High School Choral Music and AP Music Theory for 30 years. Lori is a Georgia Music Educators Association Choral Adjudicator and was named Teacher of the Year at Brookwood High School and Duluth High School. She initiated the Choral Program and AP Music Theory curriculum for Brookwood, Duluth, and Collins Hill High Schools, and is presently on the faculty of Georgia Southern University as a University Supervisor for Music Education Student Teachers who are doing their experience in Gwinnett County Schools. As an organ performance major, she has served several churches in New York and Georgia as Choir Director and Organist. Lori has thoroughly enjoyed her association with Rejoice, and looks forward to continuing to build this ministry ad God's word through our music.
Carter Still, Exalt Youth Choir Director
Carter Still is a native of Lawrenceville, Georgia, and has been involved with FUMC Lawrenceville since he was a child. He graduated from Furman University with a degree in Music Education, where he was a student conductor of the Furman Singers and a tenor solist. Carter currently teaches middle school chorus in Gwinnett County, and loves to work with students who have a passion for Christ using music. He and his wife Chrissy were thrilled to welcome their first child recently!
Dave Reesman, Pianist
Dave earned a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance from the University of Georgia, a Master of Music in Piano Performance & Literature from The Eastman School of Music, and was named a candidate for the degree of Doctoral of Musical Arts in Piano Performance at Florida State University.
He served on the Music Faculty at Brenau University, where he taught Piano, Piano Pedagogy, Music Theory, Music History, Music Appreciation, accompanied the Chamber Choir & Opera Workshop, and was founder and musical director of the Brenau Trio Chamber Ensemble.
He and his wife, Laura, have been professional church musicians for over thirty years. They have two children, Philip and Joanna, who are also professional musicians.
Sam Dawkins, 9:30 Worship Leader
Sam is the Worship leader for the 9:30 Contemporary service, as well as the 11:00am Worship leader in the Warehouse with our youth. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia, and will be attending Candler School of Theology in the Fall of 2012. Sam and his wife, Natasha are newlyweds and currently live in Gwinnett County.

Julie joined our staff as the Administrative Assistant to the Music Ministry in September 2010. She graduated from Athens Christian School, and attended Athens Technical College and Georgia Perimeter College majoring in Criminal Justice. An avid volunteer, Julie and her family are very involved in community programs such as Girl Scouts (leader), Boy Scouts (leader), Angels Alive, U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots, Mt. View HS and MVAA, Dacula Soccer, and as President and Committee Chair on the PTA school board. She perfomed with her high school choir and ensemble groups, traveling and competing statewide, and has been a choir member at local churches throughout her life. Julie and her family make their home in Lawrenceville.
