LAP
Lawrenceville Assistance Project is a ministry in the Gwinnett County area involving high school youth and adult volunteers who serve persons in need by providing house cleaning, yard work, carpentry and painting. This project consists not only of physical labor, but also a much needed time of sharing and fellowship between participants and their clients. Because all participants are provided with opportunities to serve others in need, LAP is one way to respond to Jesus' call for us to love our neighbor, Luke 10:29-37.
During the day, teams of youth and adults serve throughout the community to help those in need who are not physically or financially able to take care of basic repairs. In the evening, the teams return to the campground for an evening meal, fellowship time and worship. The youth and adults spend the night at the campground. LAP concludes on Sunday morning as LAP volunteers lead morning worship at FUMCLV.
